Same as the other site rules however we will allow the heat to really ramp up in this one. Be fair warned: If you take part in discussions on this topic in this area. You get what you get. Meaning the posts will not be moderated as close as some may wish and you could and most likely get feelings hurt.

Am I missing something here? I understand the warning about things heating up in here, and feelings can get hurt, but how?! The description of this thread said it was about amber warning lights. I am a light nut, as anyone who ever saw pics of my old truck will probably agree, but how in the world do warning lights cause heated discussions?? Maybe I misunderstood the meaning of this thread.

I had a light bar on my truck, and I loved it. Definately an eye grabber when lit up along with the additional lights. I only had 1 drawback with my lightbar though. I was a volunteer firefighter so the lightbar was blue so as long as I was in Indiana while chasing, I could use the lightbar. This is where you have to get techinical. Indiana says a volunteer firefighter can use their blue lights enroute to an emergency......technically, a tornado tearing a town apart IS an emergency.....right? LOL, however, if I went out of state, I had to use the secondary lights which were red and amber to the rear, and amber and white to the front. If I knew how to get the pics on here, I would put them under the chase vehicle section. LOL....gotta get some brag time in too! Oh yea, I cheated....my lights were extremely cheap priced and the installation was free. I just used my employee discount since I was an installer for a company who installed emergency equipment in police cars. Dealer cost for the lights, and I did the install myself after working hours!

NW-SKYWARN, if you ever buy some lights and need someone to hook them up, let me know! I know this guy who lives really close to you, has all his tools here, and used to do it for a living before joing the Navy. He does really good work and is very picky about how it looks when it is done. Now that he does not work for that company anymore his labor rates went way down! For a full set up, he usually charges a labor rate of somewhere around the price of McDonalds for dinner. Very Happy

Hahahaha Sorry we didn't have any A**holes on our forum to say that so I'll just throw it in for you guys.
lol!

Brian, thats actually how these light discussions start out. Just like I posted at just about this point in the topic. Thats why I made the joke rule. You certainly wouldn't hear any of us be like though. But some do really get out of hand.

You want a personal dopplar? I tell ya what...You donate a couple hundred thousand dollars to the "I work for the government and could probably qualify for welfare because of it" fund, and I will be more than happy to strap a dopplar to my truck and run around with ya giving you real time accurate weather reports! Very Happy

I have a Code3 MX7000 5 rotator lightbar on my Chevy S-10. Has the 5 rotators (amber) and intersection lights (white). Also pointing towards the front are 4 takedown lights. Definably gets people's attention! An alley light is also on each side. On the back is an arrowstick. For getting it on Ebay, I got it for dirt cheap ($110). One heck of a deal right? Got 2 for that price! The one sitting in our shed for now is damaged though :-(

Oh, no sorry. Not storm damaged. It was shipped and during the shipping process something must have dropped on it. The left side upper and lower domes were destroyed. Needles to say I was very unhappy and got another lightbar from the same guy Anything Light Rules *Read before posting here* Icon_lol
